PSYCHO DAVE - BEYOND OLD TIME RADIO COMEDY

Before I became the Stand Up Comedian Psycho Dave, I was a poet and song writer. In 1988 I entered songs and script from a musical I was writing about Vincent van Gough into the Vivian Ellis Prize for New Musicals. The competition was organised by The Performing Rights Association of Great Britain, and was judged by the most some of the most important people involved in Musical Theatre in the UK - These included Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, Don Black, and so on - My musical was shortlisted for the prize (unfortunately I didn't win), but I was invited to a private workshop and lunch at the Barbican Theatre in London, with Andrew Lloyd Webber and many other greats from Musical Theatre in the UK (The picture is of me with Mr Lloyd webber at the lunch)- This song: "Ladies Of The Night" is just one of the two songs the judges got to hear, and liked enough to shortlist me in the competition - The quality isn't that great, it is the original recording the judges got to hear, so over the years the tape has been coppied (The Master tape has been lost) - so there is a bit of hiss. The song is performed by Donnal Lewis and yours truely - In the show it would have been performed by two prostitutes along with Vincent van gough and Toulouse Latrec
